After or before the admission procedure you have to do an online application with a portfolio and an assignment. We highly recommend you do this for the first application round until June 7th 2024, because the second round will take place so late in the summer, that your admission might take until after the start of the semester and you might not be able to do any courses for your first semester then.

Deadline for Application for Admission
For Non-EU-students the deadline for application is the 15th of july/january, for EU-students there is none. But we recommend both applying no later than the 15th of june/december, because the processing time is around 12 weeks and the course registration takes place in mid september and if you register in person later than that you might lose one semester, where you cannot do any design studios.

The Admission Office‘s contact info and opening hours are published here. They are responsible for the admissions, they check your documents etc. The portfolios, selection procedure and things like the recognition of prior university studies are done by the Dean’s Office for Academic Affairs.

Vor dem Antrag auf Zulassung muss eine Online-Bewerbung durchgeführt werden, mit Portfolio und Aufgabenstellung. Wir empfehlen dringend, diese Bewerbung in der ersten Runde bis zum 7. Juni 2024 durchzuführen, denn nur dann kann eine rechtzeitige Zulassung zum Semesterstart und damit Plätze in den Kursen garantiert werden.

Frist für den Antrag auf Zulassung
Für Bewerber:innen aus Drittstaaten (nicht-EU) gilt eine gesonderte Frist bis zum 15. Juli/Jänner. Wir empfehlen jedoch allen internationalen Studierenden sich bis Mitte Juni/Dezember anzumelden, da die Bearbeitung der Anträge so lange dauert. Es dauert 10-12 Wochen und nach der Zusage musst du dich persönlich an der TU Wien einschreiben kommen. Dies ist theoretisch bis Ende Oktober/März möglich, wir empfehlen jedoch bis Mitte September/Februar, weil die Anmeldungen für die Kurse schon Ende der Ferien sind, das heißt, wenn du dich später inskripierst, kannst du vielleicht keine Kurse im ersten Semester belegen!
